Discover our history and meet our leadership

At Honda Federal Credit Union, we’ve provided the best service possible to Honda employees and their families for over 50 years. Our team of member-elected directors, volunteers and leaders strive to make Honda FCU the trusted partner and preferred financial institution for the global Honda Family.

Our History

On August 18, 1966, American Honda Employees Federal Credit Union was born in Gardena, California. It was created to meet the financial needs of associates who worked at the local Honda facility, as well as their families. By 1985, our organization had grown to a membership of 4,500 and was renamed to Honda Federal Credit Union. In the years since, Honda FCU has opened multiple branches nationwide and introduced the ability to bank with your telephone, computer and smart device.

Today, Honda Federal Credit Union has over 70,000 members and ten branch offices around the country. The financial needs of our members have been a priority throughout the years, and we continue the tradition with the hard work of our talented associates throughout the country. The supervisory committee consists of volunteer Honda FCU Members. They are selected each year to monitor board and management activities, provide financial statement audits, conduct annual member account verifications, verify compliance and monitor the internal control environment.
