About Honda FCU

Discover our history & meet our leaders

At Honda Federal Credit Union, we’ve provided the best service possible to Honda Associates and their families for almost 60 years. Our team of member-elected directors, volunteers and leaders strive to make Honda FCU the trusted partner and preferred financial institution for the global Honda Family.

OUR HISTORY

On August 18, 1966, American Honda Employees Federal Credit Union was born in Gardena, California. It was created to meet the financial needs of associates who worked at the local Honda facility, as well as their families. By 1985, our organization had grown to a membership of 4,500 and was renamed to Honda Federal Credit Union. In the years since, Honda FCU has opened multiple branches nationwide and introduced the ability to bank with your telephone, computer and smart device.

Today, Honda Federal Credit Union has over 65,000 members and eleven branch offices around the country. The financial needs of our members have been a priority throughout the years, and we continue the tradition with the hard work of our talented associates throughout the country. To learn more about our bylaws, please see here. Because together, we’re better.

CREDIT UNION GOVERNANCE

Honda Federal Credit Union is a democratically governed, not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members. Below is a brief summary of their roles and responsibilities. For additional information on becoming a Board or Supervisory Committee Member, please click on the Eligibility tab below.
