Many news reports today are talking about the financial crisis in the United States, and around the world. Not only is there news about Sub-prime mortgages, mortgage default rates, and investment banks failing, but there is also news that the government is shoring up money market accounts.

Honda Federal Credit Union wants our membership to know that we run our institution in a very conservative manner, as a financial institution that proudly serves Honda associates and their family members.

Honda Federal Credit Union is not involved with any sub-prime mortgages, as the funding source of such loans, or as an investor in such loans.

Honda Federal Credit Union fully supports its own money market accounts, and has not invested in any securities to support those funds.

Honda Federal Credit Union is a safe and sound financial institution, with net worth at 8.13% at the end of August 2008, delinquent loans 0.48% of loans outstanding, and net income at 0.91%. Our member accounts are insured by the NCUA up to $250,000, IRA’s up to $250,000, and we additionally insure member accounts up to $250,000.
